Time Domain Goes Global, Announces Worldwide Availability of its PLUS™ Ultra Wideband Real-Time Location System Sensor Platform

Increased sales in the U.S. and new global partner and customer pilots in Europe and Asia drive global demand

Huntsville, Alabama – April 27, 2009 – With deployments of its PLUS Ultra Wideband (UWB) sensor platform in multiple retail, manufacturing and healthcare installations in the United States, and pilots in Europe and Asia, Time Domain Corporation, a leader in precision UWB real-time location systems (RTLS), today announced general worldwide availability for PLUS in Europe and Asia beginning in Q3 2009. PLUS, having achieved the required radio frequency spectrum and safety compliance, will be rolled out in the forty European Union countries and in Korea in August.

There have been more than 25 installations of PLUS in the past 6 months with full-scale rollouts of multiple client sites in process in 2009. This announcement extends globally Time Domain’s highly flexible, enterprise-level UWB platform’s capability to simultaneously monitor the interaction of thousands of people and assets through multiple walls and floors, in “noisy RF” indoor environments, over a long range and with sub meter (three-foot) level accuracy. Time Domain’s global partners and their customers can now use its UWB platform in their countries to drive the same sales improvements in retail; productivity and safety improvements in manufacturing; and increased patient safety and quality care in healthcare, that U.S. customers are achieving.

“This global platform rollout is being driven by international demand for our products,” said Greg Clawson, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Time Domain Corporation. “With ongoing installations in the UK, Germany, Korea and Singapore, we needed to move quickly to have PLUS ready as the pilots in these countries have proven successful and our partners’ customers want permanent, country-compliant installations. Our platform is proven to deliver the right quality and quantity data in an enterprise scalable, easily installed, low total cost of ownership system, and this announcement positions us to quickly capture market leadership around the world,” continued Clawson.

Time Domain is partnering with Pinpoint Data Systems, an RTLS integrator and provider of marketing data and reports to retailers and consumer package goods manufacturers, on multiple retail applications of PLUS in the U.S. and Europe. “We evaluated multiple technology companies before choosing Time Domain,” said Tom Dorosewicz, CEO of Pinpoint Data Systems. “We not only found their platform to be the best performing, lowest total cost solution for our growing retail business, we have a true partner in Time Domain. Their team is very focused on quality customer care and they are constantly striving to help us grow our business.”

In January 2009, ShopperTrak announced FloorTrak, an enhanced retail employee monitoring and customer traffic measurement solution that incorporates Time Domain’s PLUS reader technology. “We found that Time Domain’s UWB product was the only cost effective, reliable location sensor to integrate with our industry leading traffic counting Orbit 5 system,” said Bill Martin, co-founder, ShopperTrak. “They truly understand how to match their product to specific customer environments and applications. With the encouraging success of our customer pilots, ShopperTrak looks forward to making several retail customer announcements with Time Domain in 2009.”

Time Domain also announces the release of Version 2.5 of its PLUS Location Software. Version 2.5 contains support for many new features, including the ability to synchronize multiple PLUS reader cells across large installations, dual-tag association on one item, and tag classes for higher accuracy. Version 2.5 also introduces support for new operating systems, allowing third-party applications to receive location data

from the service via a TCP connection. Supported operating systems are Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux® Ubuntu, and Linux® Red Hat. Version 2.5 is available for immediate download by authorized partners and customers.
